The CYCLUS TOOLS chain wear checker quickly and reliably determines the right time to replace a chain. If a worn chain is not replaced with a new one in good time, shifting performance will deteriorate. In addition, sprockets, chainrings and jockywheels wear prematurely and then must also be replaced. The chain wear tester uses two measuring prongs to measure the chain rollers on the inner plates, each on the same left side. This means that the measurement result is independent of the roller size and roller play. All 1/2 inch chains including SRAM AXS can be measured. The third prong applies tension to the chain via a spring. This means that the measuring process is not affected by the force the user's hand applies when inserting the measuring prongs. The degree of wear is then displayed on a simple to read scale. The Stop mark = 1% elongation of the chain.

NOTE Most bicycle chain manufacturers recommend replacing the chain at the following chain elongation: 0.5% (11-13 gears), 0.75% (9-10 gears) 1% (all other chains)
