Velosipēds tiek piegādāts oriģinālajā ražotāja iepakojumā, kas aizsargā sastāvdaļas uzglabāšanas un nosūtīšanas laikā (parasti ar noņemtu priekšējo riteni, stūri un sēdekli). Pērkot velosipēdu šādā iepakojumā, pircējam vai viņa izvēlētajam velosipēda mehāniķim pirms lietošanas velosipēds ir jāsamontē, jāpievelk skrūves un jānoregulē.
Pirms nosūtīšanas velosipēds tiek sagatavots braukšanai – tiek salikts, noregulēts un skrūves ir pievilktas. Tas tiek piegādāts iepakots īpašā kartona kastē.
