Velosipēds tiek piegādāts oriģinālajā ražotāja iepakojumā, kas aizsargā sastāvdaļas uzglabāšanas un nosūtīšanas laikā (parasti ar noņemtu priekšējo riteni, stūri un sēdekli). Pērkot velosipēdu šādā iepakojumā, pircējam vai viņa izvēlētajam velosipēda mehāniķim pirms lietošanas velosipēds ir jāsamontē, jāpievelk skrūves un jānoregulē.
Pirms nosūtīšanas velosipēds tiek sagatavots braukšanai – tiek salikts, noregulēts un skrūves ir pievilktas. Tas tiek piegādāts iepakots īpašā kartona kastē. Pēc velosipēda saņemšanas atliek tikai pareizi salikt pedāļus, pievilkt tos, noregulēt stūri un sēdekli pareizā stāvoklī un izbaudīt braucienu. Bērnu velosipēdiem var būt jāpieskrūvē arī papildu riteņi un stumjamais rokturis, kas ir iekļauti komplektā. Pakalpojuma cenā nav iekļauta papildu iegādāto piederumu un aksesuāru montāža.
